1. The short version
- Many "Visit" buttons and website links on PornVerdict are affiliate or paid links. If you click them, sign up or buy something, we may get paid. You pay nothing extra.
- We may sell advertising and sponsored placements. They are always labelled "Ad", "Sponsored" or "Partner" and are kept separate from our rankings.
- Scores and ranking positions are never for sale. They come from one formula applied to every website, published on our Methodology page.
- You should assume that any link to a third party website may be a paid link.
2. How PornVerdict makes money
We do not charge visitors. Our income may come from:
- commissions from affiliate programs when a visitor we refer signs up, buys a membership or performs another action on a partner website (revenue share, per sign up or per click payments);
- flat fees for advertising, banners or sponsored placements;
- paid traffic or link agreements with websites, networks or advertising platforms.
Commercial relationships can change at any time. A website may be a partner today and not tomorrow, or the other way round, without its review or score changing.
3. Affiliate links
When you click a link to a reviewed website, it may pass through our redirect address (/go/…) and carry a tracking code that tells the website you came from PornVerdict. The website may set its own cookies to record that referral. We receive no personal data about you from the partner except, at most, aggregated statistics such as the number of clicks or sign ups. Partner websites process your data under their own privacy policies.
Not every link is an affiliate link and not every reviewed website pays us. Many websites we review, including some of the highest ranked, have no commercial relationship with us at all.
4. Sponsored placements and advertising
We may offer paid placements such as banners, featured slots, sponsored cards or sponsored articles. Whenever we do:
- the placement is clearly and prominently labelled as "Ad", "Sponsored" or "Partner", close to the content, in a way you can see on mobile and desktop;
- it is shown outside the numbered ranking or visibly separated from it, and it does not change any website's score, rank number or review;
- sponsored text is identified as such and is not presented as an independent review.
Ads may also be served by third party advertising networks. We do not control the content of every ad, and an ad is not a recommendation by PornVerdict.
5. How rankings are decided
This section is our disclosure of the main parameters that determine ranking, as required for online rankings in the EU and UK.
- Verdict score. Every website receives a score out of 10 from the same weighted formula: catalogue size, content freshness, video quality, player speed, mobile experience, trust signals, ad load and share of free content. The weights are published on the Methodology page.
- Category rankings. Within a category, websites are ordered by Verdict score. Category membership depends on what a website actually offers, as observed in our tests.
- Homepage shelves and lists. The order of category shelves reflects how many people look for those categories; the websites within them are ordered by score.
- What is not a parameter: commissions, ad spend, partner status, free trials or any other payment. A paying website cannot buy a higher score or a higher rank number.
- Editorial decisions. We decide which websites to review and may exclude websites that we believe break the law or our standards (for example sites that distribute leaked or non consensual content). Excluded websites cannot pay to be included.
6. Free products and access
Websites sometimes give reviewers free memberships or test accounts. We may accept them in order to test paid areas. Free access does not oblige us to write a positive review and does not affect the score. Where a review relies substantially on access provided free of charge by the website, we may say so in the review.
7. How paid links are marked
- This disclosure is linked from the footer of every page and from our review and methodology pages.
- Outbound affiliate and paid links carry the HTML attribute
rel="sponsored"(withnofollowandnoopener), as recommended by search engines for paid links. - Sponsored placements carry a visible label as described above.
8. What this means for you
You are free to visit any reviewed website directly by typing its address instead of using our links. Prices, trials and discounts are set by the websites, not by us, and may change. Please check the final price, renewal terms and cancellation rules on the website before you pay.
9. For website owners
Advertising and partnership enquiries: [email protected]. Please note that we will not agree to change a score, rank, review text or the absence of a review in exchange for payment, and we label all paid placements. Requests for factual corrections are handled free of charge through Report & Content Removal.
