FurryBooru review
5.7/10furry.booru.org · best for free browsing
If e621 is the sprawling megamall of furry art, FurryBooru is the dusty comic shop two blocks over where the owner never looks up from the counter. It lives at furry.booru.org, it's been around since 2010 by our records, and it hosts a frankly absurd heap of drawn animal smut for zero dollars. I spent way too many evenings on it, so you don't have to guess whether it deserves a bookmark.
Quick disclaimer: I'm not a furry. I don't own a fursuit, and I've never howled at anything during sex. But I've poked around enough furry porn sites to know the art in this corner of the internet is often stupidly well drawn, and the people making it deserve better than meme jokes. So I went in with an open mind and an open browser tab. Several, actually.
Short version: huge free archive, a design older than some of your exes, and a tag system that takes a little practice before it clicks. Long version below.
What FurryBooru Actually Is (and Why It Looks Like 2009)
FurryBooru is a booru, which is a fancy word for a giant tagged database of artwork that people upload and everybody else browses, comments on and faps to. No studio logos, no cam girls popping up in the corner. It's drawings. Anthro wolves, buff tigers, curvy cat ladies, dragons with questionable hobbies, all filed under tags.
The front page is hilarious in its minimalism. You get a blue logo, a search bar, a post counter and four links: posts, comments, the forum and a login. The counter is the best part of the whole site. There's a boring plain text version, and then there's the good one, where each digit is held up by a different hentai girl like a squad of very horny cheerleaders.
Click through and the full layout opens up with a tag sidebar on the left and a grid of thumbnails on the right. Tap a thumb and the full image opens. It's the same skeleton every booru has used forever, so if you've been on one before, you'll be browsing within ten seconds. The forum is reasonably alive, though I mostly left the furries to their chats and stuck with the pictures.
3.8 Million Posts and a Very Tired Wrist
When I checked, the counter showed well over 3.8 million posts. Let that sink in. You could jerk off to a new image every minute for years and still not reach the bottom, and your wrist would file for divorce long before the archive ran dry.
Quality swings wildly, like on any user upload site, but the top end is seriously impressive. One of the first things I stumbled on was a dominant wolf absolutely wrecking a tied up guy, drawn with the kind of detail (facial expressions, muscle, every drop of mess) you'd expect from a paid commission. Then there's a very beefy tiger who looks suspiciously like a certain cereal mascot, sporting a bulge that could feed a family of four. And a pile of curvy cat ladies lounging in beach gear, which is honestly more effort than most tube sites put into a thumbnail.
The images load in crisp, high resolution, and that matters more than people think with drawn stuff. Blurry furry hentai is just sad. Here the linework holds up when you open the full size version, which is exactly what you want from hentai furry porn you actually plan to stare at for a while.
Tags, Tags Everywhere and Hardly Any Help
This is where the site and I needed a minute to get acquainted. A booru lives or dies by its tagging, and the tag list here is very, very detailed. You get normal porn words like anal and topless, sure, but they sit alongside oddly specific labels about hair color, species, beach settings and swimwear that feel like a superfan's personal filing system went public.
For a regular porn fan, that's confusing. You show up wanting big boobed feline action, and the sidebar hands you a pile of hyper granular labels, and it took me a good while to figure out which ones actually mattered. Veteran booru nerds will cope. Newcomers are going to flail.
My workaround, embarrassingly, was the random option. Randomizing posts turned into a weird lottery where one click gave me a gorgeous piece and the next gave me something deeply unhinged. Fun for a lazy browse, useless when you're hunting something specific. A cleanup and a few sensible top level categories would make this place twice as usable.
Is FurryBooru Free, Safe and Legit?
Free, yes, and not in the sneaky 'free trial' way. You don't need an account to browse, and by our count about 68% of the content is open to anyone who wanders in. There's a login if you want to hang out in the forum, but I never felt pushed into making one just to look at pictures.
Ads exist, but they're moderate. I saw them, I rolled my eyes, I kept scrolling. It's nothing like the pop up hellscape on some porn furry aggregators where closing one tab spawns three more. Still, run an ad blocker, because that's basic hygiene on any free adult site.
As for legit, this is a long running community board, not some scammy mirror that stole a gallery last Tuesday. I never handed over payment details, and browsing without an email means very little of you ends up on their servers. The usual booru caveat applies: the art is user uploaded, so go follow and credit the artists whose stuff you enjoy.
App, Premium and Why It Might Not Load
I went hunting for a FurryBooru app and came back empty handed. As far as I could tell, there's no official app, just the regular website, which works fine in a phone browser because the layout is so simple there's barely anything to break. I'd steer clear of random 'booru APK' downloads floating around, since those are more likely to give you malware than tails.
Premium is a similar story. I found no paid tier, no price list, no gold paw VIP club. You browse, you fap, you leave, and your wallet never gets involved.
Speed was never an issue for me. Pages popped up quickly and full images didn't keep me waiting. If the site isn't working for you, suspect your network, a DNS block or an overzealous ad blocker before declaring it dead, and try another browser. Also, people butcher the name constantly, typing fury booru, furry boru or furybooru, so type slowly and save yourself the detour.
Other Furry Porn Sites Worth a Sniff
This shouldn't be your only stop. If you want to follow creators properly and see their full galleries, my FurAffinity review covers the fandom's home base. DeviantArt is worth a look too if you enjoy browsing artist portfolios rather than tag soup.
Pony people should check the Derpibooru review, and for cartoon smut beyond animals, our list of the best hentai sites is where I'd send you next. Plenty of furry rule 34 porn sites are floating around, but a lot of them are tiny or drowning in ads, so this bunch makes a solid starting set.
My Honest FurryBooru Bottom Line
FurryBooru is old school, heavy on quirky tags and about as modern as a flip phone. It's also one of the biggest free piles of drawn furry porn I've come across, with sharp images, tolerable ads and zero pressure to sign up. For a fan of the genre, that trade is a no brainer.
Curious newcomers should start with the random option and an open mind. Hardcore furries probably have it bookmarked already. My wallet stayed shut, my browser stayed clean, and I found more well drawn animal porn in one evening than I expected to see in a lifetime. Fix the tags, admins, and I'll sing your praises from the rooftops. Possibly in a fursuit!
Alternatives to FurryBooru
Bigger and busier than FurryBooru's archive, with explicit furry art landing every few seconds plus fetish stories. Catch: the adult half hides behind a login.
Picture FurryBooru with search that behaves: filters genuinely control your feed, no ads at all, no account. Trade-off is ponies only, nothing else.
Your drawn spank bank starts moving here: HD hentai streams mostly free, no signup, in a player you already know from YouTube. Mosaics linger.
Compared with FurryBooru, uploads arrive every few minutes across 600k+ doujin galleries, and ads vanish completely. Budget a week for the sad panda gate.
When furry pinups lack a plot, swipe through long adult manhwa on your phone in HD, mostly free, no account, ads staying polite.
Looking for sites like FurryBooru that move? This multiplayer client puts real humans behind avatars for filthy, detailed 3D sex. Weak laptops glitch.
A FurryBooru alternative with tags that make sense: color coded hunting for hypnosis and mind control art, zero ads. SFW filler clogs things.

FurryBooru FAQ
Is FurryBooru free?
Yes. You can browse without paying a cent or making an account, and by our count roughly 68% of the content is openly available. I never found a premium plan or price list either, so there's nothing to upgrade to. A login exists mainly if you want to join the forum and chat with other fans.
Is FurryBooru safe to use?
Yes, in my experience. It's a long running community image board, the ads are moderate rather than aggressive, and you don't hand over an email or card to browse. I still recommend an ad blocker, like on any free adult site, and skipping any unofficial downloads claiming to be the site's app.
Why is FurryBooru not working?
Usually it's on your end. For me the site loaded quickly every time, so check your connection, try another browser, disable a heavy handed ad blocker or switch DNS if your provider blocks adult domains. Also double check the spelling, because furry.booru.org is easy to mistype and land somewhere useless.
Does FurryBooru have an app?
No, not that I could find. There's no official app, just the website, and it runs fine in a mobile browser thanks to its bare bones layout. Thumbnails, tap, full image, done. Be suspicious of random APK files promising a booru app, since those are a classic way to pick up malware.
What site has the largest collection of furry/hentai porn?
FurryBooru is a strong contender, with well over 3.8 million posts on its counter when I checked. That's more free furry art than anyone could ever get through. The catch is the messy tagging, so finding one specific kink takes patience, while casual browsing with the random option is a blast.
What are the best FurryBooru alternatives?
FurAffinity is the go to if you want to follow artists and support them directly, and DeviantArt is handy for browsing portfolios. Derpibooru covers pony art, and HypnoHub suits folks into mind control themes. For broader cartoon porn, a good hentai site list will point you somewhere fun fast.
