LobsterTube review
6.5/10lobstertube.com · best for free browsing
If Pornhub is the giant supermarket where everything sits on a shelf, LobsterTube is the guy out front with a clipboard telling you which aisle to walk down. It doesn't host a single clip of its own. What LobsterTube does is round up videos from a pile of other tube sites, stick thumbnails on them, and send you off to wherever the actual file lives. I spent a good while poking at it, and I came away with opinions. Plenty of them.
The site has been online since 2009, which in porn years makes it a fossil with a pulse. It's free, you don't need an account, and the index is ridiculous: well over 40 million videos, which is more than I could get through with a lifetime supply of lotion and zero social obligations. That's a lot of shellfish.
So is this going to be the review where I tell you it's the best thing since lube? No. But the lobster has a real use, and I'll tell you exactly when it earns your click and when you should take your hand somewhere else.
What LobsterTube Actually Does (Spoiler: No Seafood)
Think of it as a porn search engine with a red paint job. You type something in or pick a category, and you get a grid of thumbnails scraped from other tubes. Click one and you're not watching on LobsterTube at all. You're on RedTube, xHamster, KeezMovies or whichever site actually hosts that clip.
Every thumbnail carries a little label showing its source, and that's the single smartest thing about the place. I got into the habit of glancing at it before clicking, the same way you'd sniff milk before pouring it. Familiar name, fine. Some domain I'd never heard of, next.
There's a business reason behind all this. LobsterTube belongs to adultwebmasternet.com, a network where tube sites pay for traffic by getting their videos listed across its member sites. Once you know that, the whole thing makes sense: it's a referral machine that happens to be decent at search. I don't hold that against it, since porn sites have to pay rent too, and at least this one is upfront about where it's shipping you.
Lobster tube, LobsterTube, whatever you want to call it, the pitch is simple. One search box, a huge chunk of the free tube world behind it, and a signpost pointing you to the right door.
One Click, New Tab, Every Single Time
Here's the part that'll either bug you or not. Since nothing plays on LobsterTube itself, every video means a trip to another site, with that site's player, that site's ads and that site's quirks. On a lazy Sunday it's no big deal. Mid-session, hopping between six clips, it gets old fast, and your browser ends up with so many tabs it looks like a crime scene.
The upside is choice. Instead of opening five different tubes and running the same search five times, you run it once and see results from a bunch of them lined up together. For figuring out whether a specific scene exists anywhere online, that's genuinely handy. I ended up using it as a scout: find the thing here, then go watch it where it lives.
The downside is that the lobster's tidy manners stop at its own front door. Some host pages were perfectly civil. Others hit me with their own popups before the player even loaded, which isn't technically LobsterTube's fault, but it's still your problem when you're sitting there with your pants around your ankles.
One more small gripe here. Because you're bouncing between different players all night, nothing feels consistent. Volume, quality settings, skip buttons, all of it changes depending on which tube the clip came from, so you spend a few seconds relearning controls every time.
Red Paint, Old Bones, Surprising Speed
The look is pure old-school tube. Search bar up top, a row of main categories under it (Wife, Beauty, Amateur and so on), and a sidebar on the left that opens with the biggest dicks on offer and then just keeps scrolling. The red color scheme and cartoon lobster logo have a retro, seafood shack charm, like a menu that got laminated the year the site launched, but everything sits right where your hand expects it.
Then there's the menu bar. It links to popular videos and new videos, and after that, to thirteen other sites in the same network. I clicked around those sister sites for a few minutes and mostly found more of the same, so the popular and new links are where the real value lives.
Speed is where the crustacean earns its keep. In my test the main content painted in about 1.3 seconds, and hopping between category pages felt snappy with zero lag. No spinning wheels, no grid jumping around while images loaded. For a site that looks this dated, it runs like it's been doing cardio.
Mobile is basically the desktop version squeezed onto a phone, and I mean that as a compliment. The search bar still lets you flip between straight, gay and shemale results (their label, not mine), so you can cut out what you're not into before the grid even loads. Thumbs work fine on it, and the pages load just as quickly on a phone connection.
Is LobsterTube Safe and Legit?
Short version: yes, as far as I can tell. The site has been running since 2009, it carries the usual legal and compliance notices, and it's plugged into a sizable network instead of being some fly-by-night domain registered last Thursday. Most links I followed went to big, established tubes, not download-bait junk.
Ads are a slightly different story from what you might've heard. Older write-ups made LobsterTube sound totally ad-free, and that's not what I got. During my browser test I hit one popup and two ad overlays, which is moderate, not awful. The funny part is that the test logged zero requests to outside ad networks, so whatever gets pushed at you looks like house or network promo rather than the usual ad-exchange sewage.
The real risk lives on the destination sites. LobsterTube can only vouch for its own pages, and once you click out, you're in somebody else's house. Run a decent ad blocker, keep your browser updated, and treat any "download this player" button on the far end like it's radioactive.
If the site seems down or a video refuses to play, most of the time the problem is the host, not the lobster. A deleted clip, a slow server or a tube having a bad day will all look like LobsterTube isn't working. Try another thumbnail or run the search again; with an index this fat, there's almost always a backup.
Three Hundred Categories and a Few I'll Never Unsee
The popular categories sidebar runs to roughly 300 entries, which is less a list and more a census. The mainstream stuff is all there and well stocked: amateur, anal, MILF and mature, Asian, ebony, Latina, lesbian, interracial, POV, threesomes, big tits and blowjobs. Pick any of those and you'll scroll through pages and pages before the results start repeating.
Then it goes feral. I found categories for things I didn't know people filmed, and one medical-sounding entry involving the urethra that I closed faster than I've ever closed anything. There's a penis pump category too, which raises some serious questions about who's out there typing that in on a Tuesday night.
My actual tip: skip the sidebar and go straight to the most popular videos page. I got better material out of it than from any category crawl, mostly because somebody already did the filtering for you. The catch is that there are no view counts anywhere, so you're trusting the site's taste blind. I half suspect a few of those slots are paid placements, given how the network makes its money.
Fair warning if your tastes are very specific. A catch-all index like this spreads itself thin, and once you strip out the gay and shemale sections, the pile for any one kink shrinks more than the headline number suggests. For really particular fetishes, a dedicated niche site usually picks better than a general scraper throwing everything at the wall.
Free LobsterTube, No App, No Premium Upsell
LobsterTube costs nothing. No signup, no email, no age of consent lecture disguised as a registration form, you just show up and start clicking. By our count about 85 percent of what it points to is free to watch, and the rest, as far as I could tell, lands on previews or paywalled pages over at the host, where the fine print is somebody else's business.
I couldn't find any premium plan, VIP upgrade or members area, and honestly there'd be nothing to lock behind one since the site owns no videos. If someone in a lobster costume asks for your card number, that's not this site, and you should probably call someone.
Same deal with apps. I looked for a proper LobsterTube app and came up empty, just the mobile site, which works fine in any phone browser. Pin it to your home screen if you want the fake-app feel, and give a hard pass to anything in an app store borrowing the name.
Getting there doesn't require perfect typing either. People land on it after punching in lobster tibe, lobsterube or even lobser tube, and the search engines still point them home, which is handy when you're typing one-handed.
Where the Lobster Needs a Good Scrub
No accounts means no favorites, no playlists, no ratings and no comments. I get why: everything links straight out, so there's no player page on LobsterTube for people to gather around. Still, a basic thumbs up and down system would help separate the gems from the garbage in a pile this size.
Thumbnails don't preview on hover, either. On most modern tubes you drag your cursor across a thumbnail and get a quick taste of the scene. Here it's a static picture and a gamble, and combined with the new tab every time, that adds up to a lot of wasted clicks on clips that looked hotter than they were.
And then there's the mascot. Of every animal on the planet, they picked the one with claws designed to crush things, and put it on a site full of exposed genitals. Nothing about a lobster says sexy. It says melted butter and a plastic bib.
The bigger issue is that nothing here is truly unique. No exclusive content, no clever tricks, nothing pulling you back except habit and convenience. It's a good tool without a personality, and in a world packed with aggregators, that's a thin edge to stand on.
Sites Like LobsterTube Worth a Bookmark
If the one-search-many-tubes idea works for you, there are plenty of other places doing it, and our list of the best aggregator sites is the easiest place to start comparing. I'd lean toward ones that do something extra rather than just copying the formula with a different logo.
TubeSafari plays the same game of rounding up clips from other tubes, so it's a natural swap if the red lobster starts giving you a headache. iWank is another one I'd put right next to it for the same kind of quick hunt. And Bookmark.xxx earns a spot in the rotation too if you like having more than one scout on speed dial.
The trade-off is the same with all of them: you're getting a map, not the territory. If you already know you only want one flavor, a dedicated site for it will beat any scraper, no matter how big its index looks.
My Honest Take on LobsterTube
LobsterTube is a fast, free, no-signup search layer sitting on top of a huge slice of the tube world, and it does that one job well. The host labels keep you away from junk, the popular page saves real time, and the site loads quickly enough that I never got annoyed on its side of the fence.
What it isn't is a place to settle in. Every click sends you away, there's nothing to rate or save, and the ad-free reputation is out of date given the popup and overlays I ran into. I'd use it for a quick hunt or when I'm chasing down one specific scene, and then I'd be gone.
So bookmark it as a scout, not a home. And maybe don't think too hard about the lobster.
Alternatives to LobsterTube
Same host labels as LobsterTube, minus the popups on the site itself, plus a viewing history that digs up scenes you forgot to save.
A LobsterTube alternative with half the index, around 20 million videos, but zero ads in testing and pages loading in about 1.2 seconds. No pornstar pages.
Want LobsterTube's off-site linking without a single popup? iWank ran totally ad-free in testing, loads in half a second and has a gloriously kinky category list.
Tired of clicking out to other tubes? xHamster hosts its own amateur and regional mountain, in 4K, with one-click tag stacking. Watermarks wreck cumshots.
When a clip you found on LobsterTube deserves permanent spank bank status, this Russian tracker seeds full-quality JAV and siterips, ad free. Desktop only.
Trade LobsterTube's SD clips for polished premium scenes, some in true 4K, with no ads at all and pages snapping open in under a second. Paid entry, naturally.
Unlike LobsterTube, this aggregator keeps you put: over 22 million clips play in its embedded player, no account, no popups. Some embeds die.
Grab what you like instead of bookmarking tubes: downloads work without tricks, the player starts instantly, no ads. Expect a mid-size library growing slowly.
Phone fappers rejoice: free 4K and downloads, pages ready in about 0.7 seconds, and a player that keeps ads out of your wank. Busy layout, though.

What's on LobsterTube
LobsterTube FAQ
Is LobsterTube safe to use?
Yes. LobsterTube itself is clean, has been online since 2009, and shows proper legal notices with a real network behind it. I saw one popup and a couple of overlays, nothing nasty. The bigger risk sits on the host sites you land on, so run an ad blocker and never download a so-called player.
Is LobsterTube free?
Yes. There's no signup, no subscription and no card form anywhere on the site. You search, click a thumbnail and watch on the host tube. Roughly 85 percent of what it links to plays free, while the remainder can end up on previews or paid scenes owned by whoever hosts them.
Why is LobsterTube not working?
Usually it isn't LobsterTube. Since every clip plays on another site, a deleted video, a slow host or a domain blocked on your network will look like the lobster broke. Try a different thumbnail, clear your cache, or check whether your ISP or country blocks adult sites before assuming it's down.
What are the best sites like LobsterTube?
TubeSafari, iWank and Bookmark.xxx are the ones I'd try first, since they work the same angle of pointing you toward clips from lots of tubes. If you'd rather stick to one kink, a dedicated niche site will usually give you sharper picks than any general scraper can.
Is there a LobsterTube app?
No. I couldn't find an official app anywhere, just the mobile site, which runs fine in any phone browser and keeps the straight, gay and shemale switch in the search bar. Save it to your home screen for one-tap access, and ignore random store apps using the name.
Does LobsterTube have a premium plan?
No. I found no premium tier, VIP upgrade or paid membership of any kind. The site doesn't host videos, so there's nothing to lock away. If a scene you click turns out to be paywalled, that's the host site's deal, and any charge would come from them, never from LobsterTube.
